To complement our specialist tyre service, we offer high quality Maintenance & Repair for Cars, 4wd and light commercials.Our workshop is equipped with the latest in servicing technology and our staff are qualified, or closely supervised while gaining qualification.  The services we offer are constantly developing with the times and technical advances.  Whether a private car owner or commercial fleet operator your needs will be attended to in consideration of our well rooted customer service ethos.  For your and our convenience we have a trio of courtesy vehicles for you to stay mobile.

Service & Repair – New, middle aged or Older Vehicles

New Vehicles:  It is commonly believed that to maintain a vehicle’s manufacturer’s warranty, servicing must be carried out with a main dealer, this is incorrect.  Our systems and supply chain allows us to offer servicing to new vehicles whilst maintaining the warranty.  Our service system mirrors that of the manufacturer with accurate mileage and timed actions adhered to. Original or manufacturer quality parts are used in line with warranty requirements.

Middle aged:  Modern vehicle reliability is dependent on good servicing.  Our service system mirrors that of the manufacturer with accurate mileage and timed actions to adhere to or if your service history is lacking we will work with you and offer a catch up service.  We have our own service history booklet available if yours is missing or full up and needs extending.  Original, manufacturer quality or cheaper aftermarket parts can be chosen.

Older Vehicles:  We are positive and have an interest towards older vehicle and, subject to availability of parts, are more than happy to keep your beloved car going.  We have friends that specialise in classic & vintage vehicle maintenance and restoration so if we cannot help we probably know someone that will.

Commercial Fleet Vehicles: We care for a number of Commercial vehicle fleets and this service combines well with our Commercial Fleet Tyre Inspection & Service Provision department.   In house we cater for vehicles up to 3.5 ton gross, larger vehicle are directed to one of several heavy commercial garages that we work with.  We are flexible in our approach to Commercial Fleet Service as needs differ.  Some fleets with heavy commercials include the light commercials in the 6 or 10 weekly inspection policy, we can accommodate this.   Whatever the need we will do our best to offer a solution. For More information please call 01626 369496 Mechanical Department and ask for Simon Rees.

History

From 1977 to 2006 we resisted the temptation to offer mechanical repair services preferring to specialise in the supply and service of all types of tyres.

Being a trusted member of the community we are often asked our opinion or advice regarding a variety of matters including countless stories where customers have received large bills unexpectedly for work carried out at various fast fit and vehicle dealer centres.   By the mid 2000’s we were being frequently asked to check vehicle reports and work requirements that our customers had been given when collecting their vehicle from Service or Mot.  Although we did not offer mechanical services at that time we did have a good understanding of mechanics.  On many occasions when checking vehicles we found the recommendations were incorrect or not as severe or urgent as the report would suggest.

In 2006 the adjacent unit to our depot became vacant, so we grabbed this opportunity to start offering Brake, Exhaust and basic Servicing work, after some official training and gaining recognised qualifications of course.

In 2008 we employed a mechanic, Tim Owen, who was near the end of his Level 4 Master Tech apprenticeship.  Tim’s skills were at a higher level than we had planned to go but we soon found ourselves tackling more complex work such as Timing belts, Clutches and Engine Swaps.

In 2014, former Senior Tyre Technician, Mark Aylward completed his level 2 mechanics apprentice with flying colours and he is currently progressing well in level 3.  Our former work experience student, Lewis Hippsley is nearing the end of his Level 2 Mechanics Qualification and will surely be offered a placement for level 3.

We have developed and now offer full garage services and are constantly investing in new equipment to offer a wider range.  In 2014 we completed 1160 mechanical jobs for private and commercial customers.

Our Garage Services were created due to a real need and we have developed them whilst embracing our well rooted customer service ethos.  In this modern world there is a need for local, honest, compassionate and compliant business such as ours.
